Dear Realtor,

Do you have houses listed that are a hard sell because of their age and condition?

These fix them up houses which would be great bargains for first time homeowners but they can not get conventional or MSHDA financing without major repairs. Without the financing the buyers cannot afford to make the repairs - Catch 22!

The Neighborhood Investment Corporation offers the only mortgage in the area that can provide financing for both the purchase of the house and the repairs.

The Neighborhood Investment Corporation is a non profit organization whose mission is to provide affordable financing for first time owners and to revitalize our older neighborhoods by saving the housing stock. We established the NIC Mortgage in 1994 in partnership with six area banks to provide financing for these special and difficult projects. We also can use public funds to create forgivable or deferred payment loans for moderate and low income customers to keep their housing costs affordable.
