Buying a home for the first time can be a daunting experience
- especially when you are planning major home improvements! Neighborhood
Investment Corporation offers a full series of Homeownership Education
seminars to walk you through each step. The whole series of seminars
are scheduled monthly.
Budgeting
and Credit - Getting ready for the loan application by financial
planning and credit repair.
Homeownership Basics - This class discusses the home purchase decision and
process, including information on financing options, real estate transactions, credit
reports and the basics of borrowing.
Buying the house -This class is required before you may close on your mortgage.
Buying the House covers the transition to homeownership—the closing process, basic home
repair, and protecting your investment.
*Required for MSHDA, FHA, Fannie Mae
and many other mortgages for first time homebuyers.
Prequalifying Interviews and Assessments
One to one session with our housing counselor to measure your readiness
for homeownership. We will determine how much you can afford to borrow,
assess your credit ability, and help you sort out the many mortgage
options available in today's market.
